Good Standing Requirement
The right to display CILGD designations is conditional upon maintaining active membership, renewing annual subscriptions, and complying with all compulsory CPD reporting requirements.
Suspension, Lapse, and Revocation
Any member whose subscription lapses, is suspended, or has their status revoked by the Disciplinary Committee must immediately cease using CILGD post-nominals on all resumes, signatures, correspondence, and public profiles.
Retired & Former Member Status
Former members who have resigned or retired from active practice may not use standard active post-nominals unless specifically authorized in writing by the Council as 'Retired' (e.g., 'FCILGD (Ret.)').
Misuse and Misrepresentation Consequences
Unauthorized use of post-nominals by non-members, or continued use by former members not in good standing, constitutes credentials fraud and an ethical breach. The Institute reserves the right to publish public disclosures of misrepresentation and take formal legal action.
